In line with UN commitments to promote inclusivity and uphold the rights of persons with disabilities, TK developed a checklist for disability inclusion tailored specifically to joint programmes initiated by UN agencies.
This checklist serves as a practical guide for agencies and could perform the same function for partner organizations and stakeholders involved in joint initiatives to foster an inclusive environment for persons with disabilities. It covers various dimensions of disability inclusion, including accessible infrastructure, inclusive communication strategies and consultations, reasonable accommodations, and capacity-building measures.
By adhering to this checklist, joint programmes can effectively address the barriers and challenges faced by persons with disabilities, and ensure their meaningful participation and engagement.
